Last Saturday we took a little trip to the nearby city of Iwakuni in Yamaguchi district.
First we went to see the beautiful Kintai bridge. It was originally built in 1673 but in 1950 it was destroyed in a typhoon. A week after the local people had already started to rebuild it and that is the bridge that stands today. While we were there there was some kind of a karate ceremony, it was so cool, then suddenly everyone ran to the river and started to do karate movements there. In 11 C and the men/boys had no shirts on!!!!! COLD
When we had seen enough karate and walk over the bridge we saw a castle at a top of a near by hill. We took a cablecar to the top and walk to the castle. It was beautiful :)
When we had had enough of sightseeing we called our friend that live in Iwakuni and they came and guided us to their house :) We spent the rest of the day eating and talking at their house before we drove home. A great day and we will definitely go back to Iwakuni soon :)
