What a week.
With the workers here fixing the floors it has been a bit of a crazy week. On top of that we have had medical checks and some sceduling conflicts but it all worked out and now the weekend is here, again :)
We havent planned anything for the weekend, we are just going to wing it and see what happens. I might even get some sewing done, that would be so great.
Now that our lives are falling back into routine (routine is the best isnt it?) I am trying to make a more detailed plan for the next year. Now it is for sure that we will stay another year. With Siffi at work and Margret at kindergarden I need a scedule to fill my days so I wont just waist this year away. When will I ever get a whole year for myself (mixed with the duties of a housewife of course) to do as I please? Never! There are some things I want to work on to improve myself and enjoy myself in the process:
1. Learn japanese.
I really want to be able to have a conversation with my japanese friends. Not about something complicated just normal friend chat.
To be able to do this I need to plan for some studying. I already have a japanese class once a week but that is not enough if I dont oractice in between. So 3 mornings a week I will study for at least 3 hours. I will study some evenings and try to get a speaking practice with Siffi in the evenings and at weekends :)
2. Improve my health.
As I have mentioned before it is important that I take better care of myself. I had a medical check yesterday and apart from being overweight (which I knew of course) I have slightly high cholesterol and I have little blood (nothing new there). So I need to watch what I eat. It is difficult however, to get more Iron (to fix the too little blood problem) I need to eat for example red meat, but to lower my cholesterol I should stay clear of red meat!! But neither problem is that serius so I just have to cut back on sweets as I have been doing, eat more fruit and vegetable, as I have been doing and continue to excersise regularly. The cholesterol level should go down as I loose more weight and if I eat healthy I will get more iron. To keep track of what I eat I am going to keep a food diary on myfitnesspal.com and do it more detailed than I have been doing.
Regarding excersise I am just going to continue what I have been doing, a hour long walk at least 5 times a week and the gym twice a week. This I enjoy and I think that is the most important thing, to enjoy your excersise and no torture :)
3. Improve my sewing skills.
I really want to become a better seamstress. I want to be able to make myself and Margret some clothes that look good. I also want to learn more about quilting. I am going to set myself some tasks and record my improvements here on the blog. I will use every option to find tasks, from what I need around the house to gifts and so on :) in a year I should be able to improve some :)
On top of all this there is still one thing that is the most important thing to me. My family. This opportunity comes with another gift. Since I have so much time on my hand I can finish most of my housewife duties AND still have time to do the above before I pick up Margret at kindergarden. So I get to spend more quality time with her doing something we enjoy doing, instead if doing housework with her in the way and neither if us enjoying it that much :)
I have so much to be thankful for and look forward to ... And of course I will share it with you here :)
